The Zema Zselics Ltda, was established in 1953 in Santo André by Mr. Josef Zselics (1924-2015) of Hungarian origin, naturalized Brazilian.


In January 1972, he moved to the Sub-District of Riacho Grande in São Bernardo do Campo in a covered area of 10,000 sq.m.


The company counts today with the collaboration of more than 130 employees in technical, productive and administrative areas, producing exclusively for grinding machines from small and medium-sized companies to major manufacturers of auto parts and assembly plants.


In addition to the research and development sector the Zema maintains a close collaboration with several universities in a regime of partnership for research and development of new technologies. Were developed in this collaboration:


— Acoustic Sensors for monitoring of grinding processes.
— Thermal stability of the machine through the analysis of neural networks.
— Study of rectification at high speed with the use of CBN grinding wheels.

1949 — Comes to Brazil Mr. Josef Zselics (1924-2015) Hungarian immigrant who was born in 1924 in the town of Erd near Budapest.


1953 — Mr. Zselics founded the mechanical workshop São José for the production of mechanical parts, assemblies and devices for other companies.


1962 — The company name changed to Zselics & Cia., an operating machine factory, starting the manufacturing of the Zema milling machine.


1968 — Always working in the mechanical construction sector started production of universal milling machines and parallel lathes, totaling approximately 4,000 machines scattered throughout Brazil.


1972 — A major expansion occurred when the company was moved to Riacho Grande in São Bernardo do Campo, SP in an land area of 280,000 sq.m, in a covered area of 10,000 sq.m.


1979 — The company has expanded its product range to produce a line of surface grinding machines and internal cylindrical with Know-how acquired a traditional European company.


1982 — Launch of Numerika External cylindrical CNC Grinding line. Lead by engineer Giancarlo Benedetti a new culture was being deployed in enterprise and a new path was trodden to consolidate this new Know-how, transforming the Zema in a leading company in the national market of CNC Cylindrical grinding machines.

The Zema went on to develop new products, focusing on the application of computer technology in industrial automation, being a pioneer in the production of CNC cylindrical grinding machines in South America.


1988 — Creating Retrofitting Division.
With the experience gained in the design, production and application of their grinding machines, market gained another service option: reforming with modernization of grinding machines of all brands. 

1989 — Establishment of the Division of Flexifer Tools. With the production of grinding machines, internal, external and special surface, Zema has applied its grinding Know-how, expanding its activities, in a segment where the grinding technology was a predominant factor. The Flexifer Division, consolidated this goal by offering the market a full line of tooling, tool holders and fine boring head tools for roughing and finishing beyond the line type Capto


1990 — Development of specific grinding machine for heavy Crankshafts, working with two wheel heads grinding and 15 CNC-controlled axis. It is the beginning of the first exports to Europe and USA.


1994 — Began to be exported the first grinding machines for: USA, ITALY, FRANCE and CANADA. In this year started the production of automatic loading and unloading systems (CNC), type Gantry Loader with integrated CNC cylindrical grinding machines.


1996 — Providing the first line composed of 9 machines for grinding of Continuous velocity joint with automatic loading and unloading system and post-process gage for one of the largest global manufacturers of auto parts. In the same year Award the certificate of Merit by General Motors.


1998 — Exporting a line composed of 6 machines for grinding of Continuous velocity join Board for one of the largest auto parts manufacturers with its new plant in Poland.


1999 — Supply a series of machines to grinding of Injection Nozzle with high level of automation.


2001 — Launch a new line machines, Futura, Pratika, Intertronika that combine high technology with the best cost / benefit geared toward small and medium-sized companies.


2003 — Zema - 50 years



2004 — ISO 9001 – 2000 certification


2005 — Launching a line of machines to grinding of special punches with polygonal profiles.

Launching a line of machines to grinding of hydraulic steering input Shafts.


2008 — Zema-55 years.


2009 — Providing a new line of machines with new concept for grinding of the 2 CV bearing cages at same time with automatic load.

In this same year Zema supplied a grinding machine for inner race of CV joint with automatic load.


2010 — Supply a grinding machine with double (B axis) to grinding tungsten carbide parts


2011 — Launch of the RAF-2000 line for grinding of cylindrical broaches, helical and flat, with 6 controlled axes.


2012 — Export a line composed of 10 machines for grinding front nose and flanges  of diesel crankshafts to a factory in China.

Flexifer Division: launch of the Polygonal project (CAPTO) special tool holders.


2013 — Zema - 60 years.



2015 — Fusion with JUNKER Group.
